Seizing Opportunity to Make a Difference
Tomball, Texas (November 10, 2003) David Handler has always been the helping,
entrepreneurial type. As an independent sports television producer, he worked
for ABC Sports, ESPN and helped bring the predecessor of Fox Sports on the air.
As co-founder of a sports travel company, he helped grow a start-up into a $20
million (sales) organization that serves as the official travel service for the
University of Notre Dame and Disneys Wide World of Sports complex. As the
head of marketing for an international franchising company with nine brands and
more than 1,000 locations, he helped others pursue their entrepreneurial
dreams.
Naturally, after learning how professional business coaches help people, he
recognized the opportunity, knowing that others could benefit from lessons
learned during his 23 years of developing entrepreneurial endeavors.
Someone told me that I had missed my calling, and that I should be a business
coach, said Handler, the Coach of Success Handler, LLC. I had never even
heard that term. She told me to talk to a friend of hers who has been coaching
for eight years. I hesitated for about three weeks, then called him. Ten
minutes into our conversation, I knew that I had spent my entire career
preparing for the role.
While maintaining his full-time employment with the International Center for
Entrepreneurial Development (ICED), and working only after putting their three
kids to bed, David and his wife Katherine set about creating a coaching
business. Under the guidance of twice monthly phone calls with their own coach,
the learning curve was fast and efficient.
When we began, I said that we wanted to transition to this over three years,
said David Handler. Our coach said that would be fine, but that we would be
ready in about half that time. We quickly came to understand that a coach
accelerates things at a rapid pace by setting specific action steps each
meeting. Within six months we had our first client, and things took off from
there.
Capitalizing on Davids diverse background, Success Handler focuses on helping
franchisees, franchisors and business owners achieve their goals.
Franchisees appreciate the chance to work with an objective outsider who has
walked in their footsteps as an entrepreneur, said David Handler. Franchisors
see the benefits for their franchisees, and they respect the fact that we
understand their point of view. Other business owners know we bring a
perspective they wouldnt otherwise have access to as independents.
The journey that led to the creation of Success Handler covered nearly a
quarter century of business experiences. This husband and wife team is
convinced they will spend the next 25 years helping others achieve their
business dreams.

create tremendous value for our clients and achieve financial independence,
